Therapeutic Yoga /Tensegrity

In this class you will work slowly and mindfully to explore new ways of moving that bring more freedom in your body and promote an understanding of how your body works. Whether you are dealing with pain resulting from a car accident, an injury, experiencing chronic pain, or hold stress-related tensions, you will benefit by working at your own level.

Each class will include a short Tensegrity* sequence to access the deeper myofascial lines and explore connection from the core to the limbs. Every week will focus on a specific area, such as neck and shoulders, lower back, hips and pelvis, feet and lower body, upper back and shoulders. You will be guided to connect with yourself, breathe consciously, release physical tensions, and open internal space in order to feel more aligned and present in your body. 

*The Tensegrity Repair Series was developed by senior Vijnana Yoga teacher Gioia Irwin. It is a sequence of movements designed to tone and strengthen the core and bring more flexibility and function to the energy network of the body’s connective tissue system (muscles, fascia, tendons and ligaments). It helps to break down adhesions within and rehydrate fascia especially if you have had surgery and after injuries.
